Throughout his career, Josh Glatter’s practice has centered upon complex civil, criminal, and quasi-criminal litigation on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants in courts nationwide in a wide array of disputes. He is adept at all phases of litigation, from initial pre-suit investigation through settlements and appeals.
Josh graduated from Binghamton University in 1991 with academic distinction, and thereafter received his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1994. Following graduation, Josh had the privilege of serving as a law clerk for the late Tina L. Brozman, former Chief Judge of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York in lower Manhattan.
Before launching JDGLAW LLC Josh practiced at a number of prominent law firms in New York City. During that time he was trained by many talented mentors, and absorbed experience in the entire litigation process, including pre-suit investigations, complaint drafting, witness preparation and cross-examination, appellate advocacy, evidence collection, dispositive motion practice, oral argument, settlement and plea negotiations, sentencing fights, and managing media inquiries.
Josh later had the privilege of being elected partner at very highly regarded boutique complex litigation law firms, including Osen LLC where he and his colleagues litigated some of the most important civil counter-terrorism cases in history, and Fleischman Bonner & Rocco LLP, a prominent complex litigation and trial boutique whose ranks included award-winning former federal prosecutors and top notch civil litigators able to defeat far larger law firms. Josh has co-authored two articles concerning ERISA fiduciary obligations for claims administrators, one of which was cited to the United States Supreme Court and has also published several online articles addressing legal fraud risks, national security issues, changes to New York State’s LLC statute to combat money laundering risks, and consumer fraud matters.
When not practicing law, Josh enjoys spending time with his wife, two daughters, and his steadfast furry companion Stevie Ray Dog, seeing live music (especially Grateful Dead related acts), fumbling around with his bass guitar, reading every word Robert Caro has ever written, and watching (and re-watching) My Cousin Vinny, The Wire, Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Exorcist, and Casablanca.
